We had an action-packed Science Week filled with curiosity, discovery and hands-on learning! Kathleen O’Hagan joined us for a workshop exploring the lifecycle of the brown trout and the water cycle. The pupils enjoyed learning about these natural processes at work and how they connect to our local environment, Lough Sheelin.
5th and 6th Class tuned into a webinar about What happens to the human body when bitten by a venomous snake? This definitely captured everyone’s attention!
Throughout the week, we carried out lots of exciting experiments, including:
Making oobleck and exploring its unusual properties
Investigating water density
Learning how air acts as a force
Creating a magnetic field, a water propelled rocket, starbust cup and water fireworks…
