Well done to our boys’ football team who represented our school community so well in Breffni Park last Friday evening. Unfortuntely we were not the winners on the day and were defeated by Currin NS. Winning is lovely but there is also learning in losing too and it’s an important part of life. Far more important than winning is the memories and camaraderie this group of boys have created for themselves. Congratulations to Conor O’Reilly who had a player of the match performance in our goals, pulling off some inspirational saves never seen before in Breffni Park! We are immensely proud of all our boys’ achievements, but we are even more proud of how they have represented our school community and that goes for all our children who supported the boys in Breffni park last Friday too. That’s a real, lasting winning feeling.

What a brilliant day we had for Sports Day! The sun shone brightly and we all had great fun. Congratualtions to all our pupils for their Outstanding Efforts on our Sports Day. We are looking forward to next year already!
Congratulations to the Mountnugent u13 Boys Football team who won their league final last Tuesday 30th May on the 3G pitch in Breffni Park. This fantastic group of players have also qualified for the Cumann na mBunscoil Final! What better way to round off the week and make the most of the sunshine than a trip to Smyths for an ice-cream cone and a walk to our river. How lucky we are to have such a clean and bright village to visit!

Mountnugent ICA held a fantastic Eco- Fare in Mountnugent Community on the Saturday 22nd April. Pictured above are some of our children who were awarded with certificates for their winning art and poetry entries. Thank you kindly to Cathleen, Tess, Mary, Chrissie and Colette who also presented every child in the school with a potted flower to bring home and nurture.

Both our girls and boys football teams are back in action playing games and training at lunchtimes! Well done to both teams for representing Scoil Bhríde so well.
The boys and girls in Scoil Bhríde have been developing their science, technological, engineeering and mathematical skills throughout the 2022-23 school year.
Check out what we’ve been getting up to at http://scoilbhridescience.weebly.com
Thank you to Ms McDermott for all her hard work in getting our entry in!
This year the Discover Primary Science Award has been renamed the Curious Mind Awards. We are no strangers to this fantastic initiative as we strive to secure our SEVENTEENTH award this year.
On the Wednesday before our Easter holidays we bid farewell to Conor Gibson as he headed off to compete in the World Irish Dancing Championships in Montreal. This is a fantastic achievement and all in our school community are very proud of Conor!

On Sunday 5th February our 5th and 6th Class travelled to the RDS in Dublin to take part in the Peace Proms.
The children performed with the Cross Border Orchestra of Ireland and a host of top soloists in a concert on the day. The children sang with a choir of up to 3,000 children and worked with one of the UK’s leading professional conductors – Greg Beardsell. It was noisy but brilliant! Thank you to our Board of Management and Parents Association for subsidising the cost of the bus and thank you to our parents that travelled to see us, we hope you all enjoyed the show!
